WBIA Appoints Manuel Marsilio as Industry & Road Safety Ambassador

Geneva, 15 September 2025 – The World Bicycle Industry Association (WBIA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Manuel Marsilio as Industry & Road Safety Ambassador as of 1st of October.

In this role, Mr. Marsilio will engage with the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and key international processes, including the upcoming COP climate conference and the UN Decade of Sustainable Transport (2026–2035).

His mission will be to promote cycling as a solution for climate action, health, and road safety, while ensuring that the global bicycle industry has a strong voice in shaping international policies.

“Cycling is a global enabler of sustainability. I am honored to work at this level and strengthen the industry’s role in the global agenda,” said Manuel Marsilio.

WBIA President Bayram Akgül added: “This comes at a crucial time for global climate and transport policies. Manuel’s experience and dedication will help WBIA’s work in placing Cycling as a key part of the solution.”
